This letter focuses on the protection method for all dual-link failures in optical mesh networks. We first state the problem and discuss the possible scenarios of dual-link failures. We then present our proposed preconfigured ball (p-Ball) protection method that provides protection against dual-link failures using fewer backup links than preconfigured cycles (p-Cycles). We propose integer linear programming...
With the expansion of optical networks, the failure probability of dual-link failure has also improved, so it is urgent to find novel protection structures to deal with dual-link failure. In this paper, we mainly focus the protection structures to solve the problem. Firstly, we describe the scenarios and the problem of dual-link failure. Then, theory of pre-configured polyhedron (p-Poly) is introduced...
This paper proposes a GPON-based transmission hierarchy (GTH) for mesh network. An OPNET testbed is constructed to test the performance of GTH on supporting metro aggregation service. From this testbed, the performance of the network and the terminals are got, which will definitely provide some references for optimizing GTH's usage in mesh network.
Iterative p-cycle configure model is proposed and also a platform is constructed in OPNET modeler to verify the performance of this algorithm. Simulation results show that the iterative p-cycle expansions can significantly improve the controlling bandwidth efficiency of the intelligent WDM networks.
