This paper presents a 3D-RT simulator which allows indoor radio wave propagation modeling for multi-standard systems, including UWB. It focuses on the issue of simulation of deterministic radio channel with realistic antenna behavior. Vector Spherical Harmonics (VSH) expansion of antenna radiation vector function is used to have efficient data access, good compression factor, and fast waveform reconstruction.
This paper presents an algorithm that interprets the waveforms associated with received mutipath components in order to estimate their Direction of Arrival (DoA), Direction of Departure (DoD) and Incident Angle to the Indoor Surface (IAIS) in the context of Impulse Radio - Ultra Wide Band (IR-UWB) communications. The proposed solution combines a deterministic description of the filtering effects of...
In this paper, we exploit the concept of data fusion in UWB (ultra wide band) localization systems by using different location-dependent observables. We combine ToA (time of arrival) and RSS (received signal strength) in order to get accurate positioning algorithms. We assume that RSS observables are usually available and we study the effect of adding ToA observables on the positioning accuracy. The...
In this paper, we compare various UWB antennas according to their impact on performances of a coherent Rake receiver system. As such receiver may suffer from ISI effect, the aim of this study is to evaluate two typical UWB antennas used in classical indoor communication scenario regarding the system bit error rate versus signal SNR. In order to assume the same channel for the two couples of considered...
