Two different designs were proposed for Dielectric Resonator Antenna with CPW-Fed slot. Significant miniaturized with high efficiency antenna was presented using DRA with high relative permittivity. However, to achieve wider bandwidth, another design employing DRA with low relative permittivity was considered. To compensate low gain of latter case, higher order mode was excited inside the DRA.
In this paper, a CPW-fed Dielectric Waveguide (DW) antenna is introduced. The CPW feed enables the antenna to be integrated directly with other high performance passive components such as duplexers, filters, and phase shifters, using direct matching techniques. The antenna element has been designed and optimized for the frequency range of 57-65 GHz. The total gain of 9.7 dBi has been achieved. Simulation...
In this work, the modal theory of antennas is re-visited, believing that it brings invaluable information towards facilitating the general antenna design problem. This is particularly true when seeking multi-slot/multi-feed/multi-band antenna designs. First, some modifications are introduced to enhance the applicability of the modal theory. Next, using some efficient computational methods, the proposed...
In this paper a novel design approach of the elliptical ring slots antenna is presented. Details of the antenna design approach is presented and discussed. This antenna has a stripline feed structure that eliminates the above limitations of probe-fed patch antennas. Simulation result illustrates about 7.3% fractional bandwidth at the frequency band of 58.1-62.5 GHz. Finally radiation pattern results...
A procedure for extracting the unloaded Q of antennas was presented. The technique accurately predicts the asymmetric response in the reflection coefficient of canonical antenna problems. Portions of the verifications using different commercial solvers were listed in this short paper. The proposed technique is extremely useful when designing different classes of antennas. Its extension to multi-pole...
