Two 8.3-Gb/s spectrally overlaid DDO-OFDM signals are successfully transmitted along 50-km SMF using optical power division multiplexing and received by a successive interference cancellation (SIC) receiver. Spectral efficiency is doubled with optimized optical modulation index and optical power division ratio.
A novel method based on the corporation of push-pull-manner and advanced DSP is proposed in directly-modulated APL. IMD2 and IMD3 are simultaneously suppressed, and SFDR2 and SFDR3 are experimentally improved by 11dB and 7.5dB respectively.
We proposed and experimentally demonstrated a wavelength-space division multiplexing (WSDM) optical access network architecture with centralized optical carrier delivery utilizing multicore fibers (MCFs) and adaptive modulation based on reflective semiconductor amplifier (RSOA). In our experiment, five of the outer cores are used for undirectional downstream (DS) transmission only, whereas the remaining...
We present experimental results on using optical transmission technologies such as I&Q modulators, digital coherent receivers, heterodyne up-conversion in fast photodiodes, to generate, transmit and detect high capacity wireless transmission. Both OFDM and QAM modulation formats are tested in the W-achieving capacities up to 100-Gbps with seamless optical fiber-wireless conversion.
We demonstrate scalable optical comb- and heterodyning-based generation, optical and 1.3-m wireless transmission, and electrical heterodyne detection of multiband OFDM up to 38.2 Gb/s occupying 14.4-GHz RF bandwidth, for high-capacity optical-wireless links in 75–110 GHz.
In this paper, we propose a novel WDM-PON architecture to support efficient and bandwidth-scalable virtual private network (VPN) emulation over both inter-PON and intra-PON. The virtual ring link for the VPN communications among ONUs is realized by using additionally low-cost optical passive components and OFDMA technology. Moreover, the downstream traffic wavelength is reused for the upstream traffic...
We demonstrate that, by jointly optimizing video coding and radio-over-fibre transmission, we extend the reach of 60-GHz wireless distribution of high-quality high-definition video satisfying low complexity and low delay constraints, while preserving superb video quality.
