In order to realize pulsed ESR measurements by using a gyrotron oscillator. 154 GHz gyrotron output had been successfully sliced to intense and short millimeter wave pulses. A quasi-optical transmission system has been developed to be led these short pulses to ESR measurement probe. Preliminary cw-ESR measurements had been successfully performed for DPPH from the room temperature down to the liquid...

For ESR spectroscopy covering sub THz to THz region, we have developed a frequency-step tunable Gyrotron FU II as a radiation source. A pulse magnet is used for high field ESR spectroscopy. The pulse width is around 50 ms. In order to cover this pulse width, the gyrotron can operate during more than 100 ms in pulse length.
In order to realize pulsed ESR measurements by using a Gyrotron oscillator. 154 GHz gyrotron output had been successfully sliced to intense and short millimeter wave pulses (10 ns and 20 ns) with arbitrary delay time t by using a light controlled semiconductor shutter system.
A sub-THz wave magnetic resonance force microscope (MRFM) has been developed with a CW gyrotron (TE22,8 mode, f~299.23 GHz) at University of Fukui. We have successfully measured the MRFM signal at B>10 T, from the free radical spins in a bis-diphenylene-phenyl-allyl (BDPA) crystal sample attached on a cantilever. Sub-THz wave MRFM will be a key technology to achieve the atomic-scale spatial resolution...
The main purpose of our research is to develop the technique of DNP-NMR for the protein structural analysis. For that purpose, we have developed two DNP systems (only room temperature); one is an X-band system with a YIG oscillator and a TWTA, and the other is a submillimeter-wave system with a gyrotron. For the beginning, we have demonstrated the 1H-DNP experiment on BDPA-doped toluene solution at...
