We report on all-optical wavelength conversion of 160, 320 and 640 Gbit/s line-rate data signals using four-wave mixing in a 3.6 mm long silicon waveguide. Bit error rate measurements validate the performance within FEC limits.
We propose a scheme enabling direct serial-to-parallel conversion of OTDM data tributaries onto a WDM grid, based on optical Fourier transformation with spectral compression. Demonstrations on 320 Gbit/s and 640 Gbit/s OTDM data are shown.
An SSMF inscribed with two polarisation independent long-period gratings is used for flat-top pulse generation and validated by error-free demultiplexing of a polarisation-scrambled 640 Gbit/s OTDM data in a NOLM.
Polarisation-insensitive 640 Gbit/s demultiplexing is demonstrated using a 100 m polarisation-maintaining highly non-linear fibre. Error-free performance is achieved with only 0.2 dB polarisation dependence.
