With the prevalence of Android-based mobile devices, automated testing for Android apps has received increasing attention. However, owing to the large variety of events that Android supports, test input generation is a challenging task. In this paper, we present a novel approach and an open source tool called EHBDroid for testing Android apps. In contrast to conventional GUI testing approaches, a...
Based on the reflecting phase properties of the artificial magnetic conductor (AMC), a broadband low radar cross-section (RCS) reflection screen is designed by combining two types of AMC cells in a novel pattern in this paper. By partially modifying AMC units on the diagonal of the traditional chessboard patterned AMC blocks, the AMC-based reflective screen is designed. Simulation results show that...
Motif is a promising descriptor to depict the content of image. In this study, two motif-relevant matrices, i.e. a motif average matrix (MAM) and a motif excessive matrix (MEM), are proposed firstly to describe the color and texture features of an image. Subsequently, in the light of the inference of MAM and MEM, a motif matrix (MM) is further proposed to resolve the issues of rotated image retrieval...
This paper investigates the use of ultra-wideband (UWB) radio for communication in industrial wireless sensor networks (WSNs). OpenWSN is an open-source IPv6 mesh network protocol stack based on IEEE 802.15.4 time slotted channel hopping (TSCH). We adapted OpenWSN to operate an UWB physical layer based on the DecaWave DW1000 UWB transceiver. Experiments were conducted in an industrial steam heating...
Microblog as one of the most popular social network sites, has become an important platform for people to share, exchange, obtain and spread information in their life. This paper infers the Microblog user's age range from the perspective of feature selection. We analyze the user microblog text from six kinds of features. This paper has two distinctive characteristics: (i) a new feature selection method...
We have investigated L-band dispersion-managed mode-locked (DMML) fiber laser incorporating carbon-nanotube saturable absorbers. For the first time, the DMML fiber laser operates at 1595 nm with the net cavity dispersion changing from −0.34 to −0.20 ps2, showing that the spectral bandwidth can be broadened by 39%.
We have demonstrated a thulium-doped mode-locked fiber laser incorporating carbon-nanotube-based saturable absorber (CNT-SA) with ring pattern for the first time. The mode-locking operation can be maintained an intracavity average power of 37.8 mW, indicating that CNT with ring pattern can enhance the thermal damage threshold of SAs near 2 μm.
We investigate the problem of content adjustment in real time according to the usage of storage and spectrum resources in elastic optical datacenter networks. A novel resource-efficient content adjustment (RECA) scheme is proposed to minimize spectrum consumption, content synchronization cost, and blocking probability.
The residual stress has a severe influence on the performance of strength, such as the fatigue life of parts and dimensional stability etc. The control and elimination of residual stress has been a hot but hard issue. Traditional control or elimination method is the heat treatment, impact and vibration and so on, however, the limitations of these methods prevent their development. Therefore, it is...
Essays in different text genres have different ideas and writing method. Prediction the text genres firstly will help get a better accuracy when predicting the success of literary or finding the beautiful words and sentences in the essay. And it will help set a different standard for different text genres when scoring the writing by computer. Words and structure can be effective in discriminating...
Sequences classification problems in recorded videos are often very complex and have too much uncertainty. In many application domains, such as video event activity detection, sequences of events occurring over time need to be studied in order to summarize the key events from the video clips. In most existing adaptive sequences classification systems, Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) and Gaussian Mixture...
In order to accurately forecast Quality of Service (QoS) of different Web Services, this paper proposes a novel QoS forecasting approach called MulA-LMRBF (Multi-step fore-casting with Advertisement and Levenberg-Marquardt improved Radial Basis Function) based on multivariate time series. Considering the correlation among different QoS attributes, we use phase-space reconstruction to map historical...
The concept of complex event processing (CEP) and complex-event-aware service have been extensively studied to retrieve relevant information from massive amount of realtime streaming events. In mobile environment, the Mobilityaware CEP (MCEP) system was proposed to address the issue of synchronization problem between different query ranges and MCEP operators. We noticed that MCEP systems lack the...
Based on the mutual inductance model, this paper introduces two controlled voltage source from the point of electromagnetic field. The mutual inductance voltage of primary coil is the integrating of the electric field intensity which is generated by current in the secondary coil along the primary coil path, and vice versa. In order to optimize the parameters of wireless power system, the power distribution...
Personalized medicine performs diagnoses and treatments according to the DNA information of the patients. The new paradigm will change the health care model in the future. A doctor will perform the DNA sequence matching instead of the regular clinical laboratory tests to diagnose and medicate the diseases. Additionally, with the help of the affordable personal genomics services such as 23andMe, personalized...
Automatic detection of mesoscale oceanic eddies is in great demand to monitor their dynamics which play a significant role in ocean current circulation and marine climate change. Traditional methods of eddies detection using remotely sensed data are usually based on physical parameters, geometrics, handcrafted features or expert knowledge, they face a great challenge in accuracy and efficiency due...
Existing marine sensor networks acquire data in sea areas divided geographically and store them in their own data centers of the sea area independently. In the case of marine disaster across multiple sea areas, which needs to retrieve data from multiple data centers, the current network structure has a serious impact on real-time decision making. To efficiently carry out data layout and speed up the...
Nano-dielectric BiFeO3/LDPE films of different percentages including 0.2 wt% and 2 wt%, have been successfully prepared by using solution-melt blending method in the spiral double pole rheometer. This paper studies on effect of magnetic field induction on crystallization properties of BiFeO3/LDPE nano-dielectric. For the purpose of research on the effect of magnetization on the morphology and crystallization...
The most widely used method in recommendation systems is collaborative filtering, of which, a critical step is to analyze a user's preferences and make recommendations of products or services based on similarity analysis with other users' ratings. However, collaborative filtering is less usable for recommendation facing the “cold start” problem, i.e. few comments being given to products or services...
Mechanical and electrical equipments are widely used in industry. Existing electro-hydraulic mixing equipments mainly use expert systems for fault diagnasis. However, in order to increase the accuracy of diagnasis, the expert systems have to acquire more knowledge. And diagnosis system will bring great uncertainty due to limited knowledge. Furthermore, existing fault diagnosis system has the disadvantages...
