The characteristics of big data not only challenge the processing methods of large volume of data, but also the way we make use of such semantic-rich resources, among which how users plan to manipulate the intermediate or final results requires to be well considered. This is especially challenging in building analytics systems as big data is richer in semantics and the heterogeneous data modalities...
We report 2–3.8 μm supercontinuum with 5.1 W output from a dehydrated large-core tellurite fiber. The 3dB bandwidth of the supercontinuum in 2–3 μm is 0.985 μm, with the power spectral density above 2.0 mW/nm.
We report high conversion efficiency, high peak power tunable Raman solitons generated in a Tm-doped fiber amplifier. The Raman solitons possess 80% of the pulse energy and have wavelength tunable range from 2.05 μm to 2.25 μm. 166-fs soliton pulses are obtained at wavelength of 2.25 μm with an average power of 970 mW, corresponding to a peak power of 140 kW.
The connection of business processes along the value chain and the integration of the production system with business process are two cornerstones of Industry 4.0. The Industry 4.0 Demonstration Production Line (DPL) located at Shenyang Institute of Automation (Shenyang) is a prototype smart factory that implements end-to-end customized production. It is also a testbed for intelligent manufacturing...
Hot reserved redundant sub-modules significantly increase the reliability of MMC systems equipped with considerable sub-modules. This paper presents a fault-tolerant operation scheme for an MMC with a distributed control architecture. The MMC output, internal dynamics and the average capacitor voltages are balanced and well-regulated while asymmetrical sub-modules in arms are bypassed due to faults...
The problem of energy and reserve exchange between electric vehicles (EVs) and fast charging station (FCS) is studied using a Stackelberg game. In this game, the FCS operator, who acts as a leader, needs to set its energy and reserve prices to optimize its revenue while ensuring EV users' charging demand. On the other hand, EV users, who act as the followers, needs to decide their charging and reserve...
Fault tolerant operation can significantly improve the reliability of a Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC), but the precondition is that a fast and accurate fault detection and localization method has been embedded into the MMC control system. This paper proposes a fault diagnosis method used in a distributed control architecture, which makes the local controllers capable of identifying the switching...
In order to meet the trend of miniaturization, large capacity and intelligence of the current vacuum circuit breaker, a new model of three-phase disc rotation vacuum circuit breaker has been proposed, in which the main circuit distribution was changed from the same direction to the opposite. Besides, some adjustments were made to the position of operating mechanism. The electric field distribution...
In this paper, the problem of single-channel blind source separation (SCBSS) of a mixture of two co-frequency phase-shift keying (PSK) signals with unknown carrier frequency offsets (CFOs) is investigated. Two SCBSS algorithms which are robust to CFOs are proposed to perform separation of the mixture signals. In the first algorithm, the phase changes of the received signals caused by CFOs are tracked...
To realize the energy sharing among multiple microgrids (MGs) within MG parks, a non-cooperative game based distributed trading is proposed. A linear supply and demand market clearing mechanism is proposed for energy prosumers. A day-ahead energy trading problem is proposed for each MG, correlated with other MGs' trading plans in the utility function. A non-cooperative game is formulated for the energy...
Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries have obtained extensive interests for the high energy density, little contamination, and ready availability. To enhance the compatibility of the batteries in electrical systems, the accurate estimation of the state of charge (SOC) is remarkably significant. Conventionally, Kalman filter algorithm and its derivations can be utilized for SOC estimation. To...
Within the context of industry 4.0, the personalized customization requires the manufacture more agile and flexible, which means the reconfigurable manufacturing system is crucial for enterprise to remain competitive. However, most of the existing systems have to suspend when reconfiguring, as the online reconfiguration may lead system to disorder and uncertainty. To minimize the leading time of reconfiguration...
In order to improve localization accuracy in mobile sensor network, based on quadratic programming-unscented Kalman filter (QP-UKF) and multidimensional scaling-MAP (MDS-MAP) methods, this paper studies node localization in mobile sensor networks. First, from the perspective of wireless sensor network overall localization, a nonlinear dynamic relative motion model for sensor network units is established...
Battery energy storage (BES) plays an important role for mitigation of microgrids power imbalance induced by the intermittency of renewable sources and load changes. Due to high capital cost, optimal sizing of BES is crucial for economic operation of a microgrid. Conventionally, the optimal sizing of a BES is determined without considering the operating range of battery stored energy under varying...
The increasing new product variants force the manufacturing enterprise to take a short time in adjusting the automatic assembly line rapidly, but it seems a challenging task. Realizing integration of information technology and manufacturing technology is the very essence of new manufacturing schema. This paper introduces an ontology-based modeling and application method to test the feasibility of...
Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems enhance physical devices with control, computing and communication abilities to provide smart solutions for industrial applications. In industrial applications, data acquisition is an important topic. Based on feedback data from sensors and equipment, industrial processes could be optimized either by experienced engineers manually or smart agents automatically. The...
Communications within power converters is becoming increasingly important particularly with the evolution of multilevel converters having distributed control structures. In the not so distant past, communications were used primarily for reference point setting and monitoring. Currently however communication is taking on an integral role in the control of the power converters particularly those with...
A stray gassing test device for transformer oil under condition of coincident electric field and temperature was developed and the corresponding test method was established independently. Influences of oxygen, temperature, electric field strength, metal deactivator content on the transformer oil stray gassing were studied, and the reason for hydrogen overproof was analysed. The results showed that...
Instrument is an important component of industrial production. How to read instrument automatically is of great value to improve production efficiency. The automatic recognition of instrument has the problems of complicated composition of instrument panel and blurred image. This paper puts forward automatic recognition of instrument dial readings with multiple reference points. According to the position...
This paper proposes an improved Genetic Algorithm (IGA) — combined with ontology module to solve dynamic job shop scheduling problem (DJSSP). The objective function of this scheduling problem is to minimize a weighted sum method of maximum complete time (makespan) and mean waiting time to periodically plan production. This scheduling method is applied to a flexible manufacturing system. A reschedule...
