In this paper the properties of photoluminescence of zinc-alumino-silicate glasses were studied by excitation and emission spectra. A blue band of emission was observed in the zinc-alumino-silicate glasses when the glass was excited by UV light. Also it was observed that the emission intensity could be tuned by varying the heat treatment time and the temperature of the glass matrices.
Eu2O3 doped oxyfluoride alumino-borosilicate glasses and glass ceramics were prepared in air by melting-quenching and thermal treatment process. The Reduction of Eu3+ to Eu2+ was observed in the samples.
