This paper reports the development and evaluation of a ultra-small and ultra-light wireless sensor node for real time monitoring of biological information of animals. Power consumption of the sensor node was decreased dramatically by improving efficiency of the MCU and irradiation power of the RFIC, which enables a few months life time when using SR416SW batteries. Various configurations of the antenna...
A corrugated horn incorporated with a broadband microwave window, has been designed, manufactured and measured. Operating over a wide bandwidth of 90–100 GHZ this horn achieved a high Gaussian content, over 99%, with a low microwave reflection, below −27 dB. The performance of the corrugated horn was confirmed through measurement using a vector network analyzer (VNA).
Airborne ground penetrating radar (GPR) can be used for detecting underground targets in dangerous area or area covered by heavy vegetation. Since the back projection (BP) imaging method can easily compensate for the electromagnetic wave's refraction effect, it can be a practical imaging method for airborne GPR system. Nevertheless, the conventional BP imaging method usually suffers from high computational...
Lunar penetrating radar (LPR) is an important way to carry out lunar probing. The detection result of Rabbit lunar radar carried by Chang'E 3 provides a reliable scientific foundation for studying the underground structure and depth distribution of the moon. The regolith modeling and numerical simulation can provide a reliable reference for lunar detection and data interpretation. In this abstract,...
Ground penetrating radar (GPR) velocity tomography has shown much promise in the detection of geological hazardous bodies. Using GPR velocity tomography technology, faults parallel to the transmission direction can be more accurately detected than faults perpendicular to transmission direction. This indicates that ray coverage has a great influence on inversion accuracy. In order to identify accurately...
Plasma processing of porous órgano-silicate Iowie dielectrics, following the damascene approach. remains one the biggest challenge for IC manufacturing. During low-k plasma etching. reactive radicals (O∗, F∗ amongst others) and VUV penetrate easily into the porous low-k structure, reacting with Si-CH3 terminating bonds, ultimately turning the etched low-k hydrophilic and raising the integrated k-value...
Replacement of sacrificial template by ultralow-k dielectric was studied as an alternative integration approach for Cu/low-k interconnect. Metallization structure was first formed by patterning a template material. After template removal, a spin-on porous low-k was deposited on the metal lines. Then, planarization of the excess low-k was performed by CMP. The proposed approach does solve the two major...
Automotive body assembly design in conceptual design stage is a complex group decision-making process which involves knowledge communications and projects selections. Ontology is a useful tool to abstract vague and linguistic knowledge. In this paper, a project-handling module based decision-making ontology model (PMDOM) is proposed to accelerate communication of decision-making and help for the selection...
