A time domain full wave approach for simulating real lumped components and RF devices is presented. To simulate these real circuits characterized by measured parameters, the passivity enforcement method is first introduced to the time domain electromagnetic simulation method. This method guarantees the causality and passivity of the extracted rational model. A few methods can then be applied to transform...
A 1MW CW 650MHz high efficiency klystron is being designed for the coupled cavity drift tube stage of the Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) in China. As an important part of the klystron, the high power microwave window could keep the vacuum and make the microwave transmit with high efficiency. In this paper, a special kind of coaxial window working in 650MHz have been designed to get a better...
A sheet-beam Extended Interaction Klystron (SBEIK) is an attractive MMW amplifier because of its high gain per unit length and compact configuration.[1–3] However, with a large width-high ratio sheet beam, it is easier to become instable in long transmission distance. In this paper, the stability of multi-gap extended cavity for W band Sheet beam EIK has been studied. The method for judging oscillation...
In RFID systems, tag anti-collision algorithm is significantly important for fast tag identification. In this paper, we research a robust tag estimation method and the PRQT algorithm, and propose prefix-maximized query-tree (PMQT) tag anti-collision protocol. The simulation results show that the system efficiency of PMQT is higher than the previous protocol about 18%–30%. In addition, PMQT algorithm...
There are some challenges associated with the spectrum sensing for cognitive radio (CR), one main challenge of spectrum sensing is hardware requirements. The paper proposes the energy detection and a direct-conversion spectrum sensing receiver (DCSSR) to respond to the challenge of hardware requirements. However, the main problem is DC offsets of the DCSSR. A DC offset adaptive energy detection (DC-AED)...
A sheet-beam Extended Interaction Klystron (SBEIK) is an attractive MMW amplifier because of its high gain per unit length and compact configuration. The output cavity is an important part of the whole tube, which is used for RF power extraction. In this paper, multi-gap extended output cavity designs of SBEIK are presented by 3D simulations, RF parameters have been calculated. Beam wave interaction...
In China, the R&D of high peak power klystron has been made much progress in recent years. In 2010, the Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IECAS) has successfully developed S-band 100MW klystron, and, currently, are developing an S-band 150MW klystron. The Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IHEP) cooperated with the Hang Guang Electrical Factory...
A novel anti-ESD TGFPTD SOI LDMOS was proposed firstly for improve ESD robustness of TGFPTD SOI LDMOS in this paper. The proposed device was obtained by introducing an additional n+ implantation and rapid thermal annealing into the widen p-well region of conventional TGFPTD SOI LDMOS. 2D simulation of the proposed device upon a positive current pulse stimulus of HBM indicates that a hybrid conduction...
The performance of transmit antenna selection is investigated. The exact closed-form expressions for the average BER and average SNR in MRT systems and EGT systems are proposed. The minimum number of increased transmit antennas sufficient to compensate the performance loss for using part of transmit antennas is analyzed. The validity of the performance analysis is demonstrated by computer simulation.
In this paper, the design of input and output cavity for X-band sheet beam klystron was presented. The fabrication and cold test of a barbell cavity were conducted, and the cavity characteristics were predicted by both CST simulation and measurement.
The Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IECAS) is developing an S-band 100 MW klystron for linear accelerators. The klystron has five-cavities, including a double-gap 2pi-mode output cavity. The output section consists of a cavity with double gaps and one output waveguide. To date two prototypes were fabricated. Unfortunately, the first one was suffered from leaking on the edge...
As the RF structure to accomplish mode conversion in the system of pulse compression, the helically corrugated waveguides can operate in the frequency of millimeter wave with high gain and high efficiency. In the design of a high-power, broadband millimeter wave pulse compressor, the mode convert system is an important part. A compressor based on helically rippled waveguide is also described.
Since 1970s the Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IECAS) has successively developed S-band 5 MW, 20 MW and 50 MW klystrons for accelerators. Currently, we are developing the S-band 100 MW klystron. In this paper, the specifications of our typical high peak klystrons are presented and the key technical problems for developing this kind of klystron are discussed.
