We report the first successful real-time superchannel trials up to 5.6Tb/s over 359km and 2Tb/s over a live 727km link using 64GBaud flexible-rate transponders, demonstrating long term error-free performance and fast capacity turn-up of ∼2Tb/min.
A direct-conversion transceiver including base-band amplifiers and filters employs a 60-GHz quadrature VCO and a feedforward divider with no buffers to achieve a low power consumption. Designed in 40-nm LP CMOS, the radio presents a noise figure of 4.8 to 8.2 dB in the receive mode and an output power of +10 dBm in the transmit mode while drawing 56 mW and 124 mW, respectively.
We propose the use of simple full interference cancellation (FIC) and orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) within a two-hop asynchronous cooperative four relay network. This approach can achieve the full available diversity and asymptotically full rate. The four relay nodes are arranged as two groups of two relay nodes with offset transmission scheduling. Therefore, the source can serially...
Concerning the uncertainty of channels and peak power constraint, we give a new practical layering scheme to do reliable transmission. In our scheme, Walsh matrix is employed to do layer-time coding. Regarding columns of a layer-time coding matrix as layers and rows as time, after Walsh layer-time coding, interference among layers can be removed or diminished by adding rows up. When there are layers...
We proposed RF direct-detection vector signal generation using optical I/Q up-conversion. The Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization procedure is employed to compensate I/Q imbalance. After transmission over 100-km SMF, penalties of 5-Gb/s QPSK signals can be ignored.
Hybrid access network integrated with multi-level wireless vector signal and wireline OOK signal without optical filter is proposed for the first time. 312.5-MSymbol/sec RF 8-PSK signal and 1.25-Gb/sec BB signal are experimentally demonstrated.
A multi-services hybrid access network has been experimentally demonstrated. The scheme has no RF fading issue; can carry vector signals, and requires no optical filter at remote nodes.
In contemporary communication satellite systems, uplink radio frequency (RF) signals are amplified, downconverted to intermediate frequency (IF) and/or baseband, and after appropriate filtering, are input to an analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The ADC digital output is signal processed for a variety of purposes, such as signal channelization and switching. In these systems, a foremost realization...
The performance of band limited M-ary PSK communication systems is impacted by amplifier nonlinearities. It is critical to precisely model high-power amplifiers (HPAs) to ascertain the bit error rate (BER) performance of M-ary PSK communication systems, which are band limited. State-of-the-art simulation techniques can be employed to exactly ascertain intersymbol interference (ISI) and its degradation...
The performance of multicarrier frequency division multiple access (FDMA) wireless communication systems is impacted by amplifier nonlinearities. It is vital to precisely model limiters and high power amplifiers (HPAs) to determine the spectrum distortion and other types of degradation associated with multicarrier communication systems. Contemporary simulation tools can be employed to precisely ascertain...
