The physics processes in broad-band third-harmonic generation (THG) for the multicrystal cascade scheme have been studied in this paper. Assuring the THG efficiency is more than 60%, the effective conversion bandwidth is designed up to 2nm for the single-doubler, dual-tripler, which is thrice as broad as that for the single-doubler, single-tripler.
