A new dioxygen carrier supported on a solid matrix has been synthesized through the tethering of a dinuclear chelating ligand to the surface of mesoporous silica. The material thus prepared is extremely efficient for the selective absorption of dioxygen from gaseous mixtures. In aqueous solution, this material displays good catalytic ability for the disproportionation of H 2 O 2 .
Three nickel(II), three cobalt(II) and three manganese(II) binuclear complexes have been synthesized, namely [M 2 (DPHA)L 4 ](ClO 4 ) 2 [M = Ni II , Co II and Mn II ; L = en (diaminoethane), ap (1,2-diaminopropane) and pn (1,3-diaminopropane) for Ni II and Co II ; L = bpy (2,2′-bipyridyl), NO 2 -phen (5-NO 2 -1,10-phenanthroline)...
