We demonstrate bandpass transmission filters and optical add-drop multiplexers on SOI based on interferometric structures incorporating a pair of sidewall Bragg gratings.
We demonstrate a bandpass transmission filter on SOI based on a pair of Bragg gratings in a Michelson interferometer. We obtain filter responses centered at 1531 nm and 1547.5 nm with 3 dB bandwidths of 8 nm and 5 nm, respectively.
We demonstrate the all-optical reconfigurable time slot interchange (TSI) of individual bits at 40 Gb/s based on four-wave mixing (FWM) and a programmable planar lightwave circuit (PLC). The PLC is used to generate different control signals (masks) that determine which bits undergo TSI. By programming the PLC to generate two different masks, two different TSI patterns are obtained. TSI is achieved...
We demonstrate an approach for interrogating fiber Bragg grating sensors based on single bandpass microwave photonic filtering. The FBG sensor is a twin-grating structure and different temperature sensitivities are obtained at different RF frequencies.
