Existing systems for automatic genre classification follows a supervised framework that extracts genre-specific information from manually-labeled music data and then identifies unknown music data. However, such systems may not be suitable for personal music management, because manually labeling music based on individually-defined genres can be labor intensive and subject to inconsistence from time...
Although multiple music recordings may sound identical to a human listener, the underlying representations of sound may differ due to the variations in their audio encoding and/or transmission methods. In contrast to the existing audio-fingerprinting techniques, which establishes the fingerprint of each source music to identify unknown, ldquodistortedrdquo audio clips, this paper proposes an unsupervised...
In this paper, a fast backlight module luminance inspection method is proposed. The proposed method inspects various backlight modules at once and all check points within the backlight modules are examined. Comparing to the traditional method which inspects one check point at a time, the proposed method is fast. The experimental results show that the proposed method usually yields satisfactory results.
Interpretation of aerial images is an important task in various military and non-military applications. Image segmentation can be viewed as the essential step of extracting features in aerial images. Among many developed segmentation methods, the clustering methods have been extensively investigated and used. The determination of the number of clusters in a dataset is inherently a difficult problem,...
