Early stages of austenite decomposition in N26MT2Nb steel were investigated. Decomposition effects were revealed basing on the occurence of modulated structure and the precipitated particles during cooling. Structural investigations were performed on metallurgical microscope Neophot 2 and transmission electron microscopes (Jeol JEM 100B and JEM 3010).
