In the paper the thermal processes proceeding in domain of casting superficial layer subjected to a short pulse of external heat flux are discussed. The transient temperaturę field in domain considered is described by the microscopic heat transfer eąuation supplemented by the adequate boundary-initial conditions. On a stage of numerical modelling the finite difference method has been used.
