Johnson-Claisen and Eshenmoser-Claisen rearrangements of chiral γ-trifluoromethylated allylic alcohols, which were prepared via effective enzymatic resolution of the corresponding propargylic alcohols, are demonstrated. As a result, it is shown that both reactions could become important methods for the preparation of highly functionalized chiral trifluoromethylated materials.
