Transformation optics provide a novel method of controlling the propagation of light. By applying it to a resonant optical cavity, whispering gallery modes can be restored in an optical cavity of deformed boundary.
Whispering gallery modes (WGMs) have ultra-high quality factor but only non-directional light emission property. We suggest a novel way to restore WGM in resonant cavity of deformed boundary shape with Transformation optics. Conformal mapping make it possible with only density controlled isotropic material. FEM and microwave near-field scanning result prove that our idea is working. It is expected...

We demonstrate extremely high indices of refraction from large-area, freestanding, flexible terahertz metamaterials. The measured refractive index was greater than 20 at the quasi-static limit and 38.64 at its peak.
We fabricated two-dimensionally isotropic high index metamaterials composed of hexagonal/square metallic ring and demonstrated polarization-insensitive effective refractive indices in the terahertz frequency range.
We demonstrate extremely high indices of refraction from large-area, freestanding, flexible terahertz metamaterials. The highest index of refraction of 33.22 is obtained from a multilayer metamaterial at a frequency of 0.851 THz.
A small scaled flight model of the tilt rotor aircraft for the Smart UAV Program at KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute) has been developed and tested. Since the flight characteristics of a tilt rotor aircraft are new to KARI, the scaled model was used as a test bed to evaluate the flight control algorithm for the full scale smart UAV. The flight test of the small scaled model was performed after...
