We demonstrate the direct coupling of plasmonic and photonic nanowires via subwavelength-scale near-field interaction. Hybrid nanophotonic components, including splitters and micro-ring cavities, are fabricated out of coupled Ag and ZnO nanowires in a complementary scheme.
