Composite Au/TiO 2 nanoparticles were synthesized using TiO 2 nanoparticles as nuclei. The particles were characterized by UV–vis spectroscopy, ζ potential, EDS, and TEM. The mean diameter of the particles is about 23.6 nm, and the position of the surface plasma absorption band peak is at 533 nm, with a red shift of 15 nm compared with that of Au sol.
