We have fabricated Bi2O3-based microstructured fiber using a novel method. It was experimentally revealed that this fiber shows nonlinearlity ∼ 780 W−1km−1 and GVD ∼ −25 ps/nm/km simultaneously.
We have demonstrated Bi2O3-based Erbium doped fiber ring laser. Only 0.2-m of BIEDF as a gain media shows 134 nm tunable range and high signal-to-noise ration over 70 dB for 120 nm tunable range.
We fabricated Bi2O3-based photonic crystal fibers by novel fabrication process. We measured high nonlinearity ?? of 780 W1km-1 and achieved -15 ps/nm/km dispersion at 1550 nm.
Gain characteristics of 8-channels Er-doped bismuthate waveguide array are measured under bidirectional pumping at 1480 nm. Over 19-dB gain with flatness of 2 dB at whole C-band has been obtained using a 25-cm long waveguide.
