All-optical RZ to NRZ format conversion for two tributaries of a PDM signals simultaneously is demonstrated through a single highly nonlinear fiber with polarization nonlinear loop mirror configuration. Less than 1-dB power penalty is achieved.
A synthesis scheme to generate microwave triangular-shaped pulses based on spectral shaping and frequency-to-time mapping is proposed. Triangular-shaped signals with periods of 0.2ns, 0.4ns, 1.6ns and pulse widths of 0.13ns, 0.35ns are demonstrated.

We investigate effects of pattern dependence in SPM-based all-optical regenerators for PDM signals as we vary relative delays between two orthogonal bit sequences. Up to 4-dB OSNR fluctuation may occur as the delay changes.
