The lower average atomic number strained GaNxAs1-x (x = 0.029 and 0.045) and Si1-yCy (y les 0.015) films were found to be brighter than the higher average atomic number GaAs and Si in annular dark field (ADF) images.
The characteristics of both etched mesa and guard ring type of InGaAs APD arrays were compared. High uniformity, high stability, and high reliability guard-ring type of arrays with a size up to 64times64 were fabricated.
InGaAs APDs with improved photon counting characteristics were designed and fabricated and their performance improvements were observed. Following the results, a 4times4 individually addressable APD array was designed, fabricated, and results are reported
Vickers indentations were carried out on the surface of GaAs single crystal with the load of 0.049 N and were observed using high-resolution electron microscopy in the present experiment. The experimental results reveal that many defects such as dislocation, microtwin and stacking-fault occurred and amorphization took place beneath the indentation. High-pressure induced amorphization and shear deformation...
Summary form only given. In sensor systems that are based on optical fiber Bragg gratings, the center wavelength of the grating reflection must be determined with a precision on the order of hundredths of a nm over an operating range of several nm. We report on the use of a GaAs-AlGaAs multiple quantum well optical waveguide modulator to serve as a sharp edged electro-optical filter.
