Summary form only given. Ballistic transport is collision-free carriers drift in a conducting channel whose ballistic length LB is smaller than the scattering-limited mean free path ℓB. In such channels, the probability of scattering is still finite. The probability that a carrier after being injected from the Ohmic contacts will undergo collision in traversing a ballistic length LB is exp(-LB / ℓ...
In this paper, the universal velocity-field characteristics for nanowire of arbitrary degeneracy were studied. The nanowires were calculated using Fermi-Dirac distribution. The Fermi level rises as quantum states for the additional accommodation of electrons. Al low values of the electric field, the emission of the optical phonons does not affect the ohmic transport of the nanowires.
In this study, the carrier statistics in a carbon nanotube (CNT) with nonparabolic energy spectrum is investigated to predict the ultimate (intrinsic) drift velocity as a function of temperature, concentration, and chirality. The average of the magnitude of the velocity is the intrinsic velocity vi. vi for random motion is the weighted average of v=(1/h)(dE / dk) with weight as the product of the...
