We experimentally demonstrate a broadband, frequency agile RF-photonic notch filter based on a waveguide Bragg grating on silicon. The device shows a seamless notch RF frequency tuning over 20 GHz without changes in the shape of the filter response.
The generation of optical millimeter-wave with frequency 8-tupling is experimentally demonstrated. 625-Mb/sec QPSK data transmission at 105-GHz (W-band) is achieved for the first time using the millimeter-wave generation technique and direct modulation of a NBUTC-PD.
In this paper we reviewed our recent work about InP based high-speed and high-power photodiodes with evanescently-coupled and vertical-illuminated structures and their application to W or V-band microwave photonic.
We demonstrate the high-speed and high-power performance of separated-transport-recombination photodiodes (STR-PDs) under continuous-wave operation. As compared to the control without recombination center, STR-PD has superior bandwidth performance under higher output photocurrent without sacrificing responsivity seriously.
