Terahertz generations were demonstrated in periodically poled lithium niobate and lithium tantalate crystals around 1-2 THz. Different forward and backward terahertz radiations are possible in periodically poled structures via difference frequency generation within the ultra-broad pump laser. The generated THz pulses could be controlled by the quasi-phase matching structures.
Combination of intra-cavity SHG and passively-Q-switching demonstrated on 473 nm quasi-four-level Nd:YAG laser. Periodically-poled MgO:SLT was inserted into the 10 mm length cavity of passively-Q-switched Cr:Nd:YAG laser. A longitudinally pumping with 4 W laser diode shows beam quality of M2 ap1. The output energy of 29 muJ and pulse duration of 3.1 ns were obtained.
Intensity dependence of OPO performance was measured to investigate uniformity in thick QPM PPMgSLT fabricated by use of single- and multi-pulse methods. A large effective aperture (fluctuation<10%) of 1.4times1.3 mm2 may be obtained in the both types of devices.
Light-induced absorption under illumination of continuous-wave ultraviolet laser in Mn-doped near-stoichiometric LiNbO/sub 3/ crystals was investigated for tailoring two-color nonvolatile holography. Dependences of probe wavelength, pumping intensity, crystal composition, and temperature on the light-induced absorption were presented.
