We present a detailed study of back bias (Vbb) impact on UTBB devices with a gate length (LG) of 25nm and BOX thicknesses (TBOX) of 25nm and 10nm, respectively. It is reported for the first time that the Vt is modulated by Vbb across a wide temperature range, from −40°C to 125°C. The device electrostatics and reliability, under various Vbb are investigated. The short channel effect (SCE) is well maintained...
A compact polarization-diversity self-coherent receiver with reduced complexity is proposed. Requirements on input polarization tracking is relaxed by a variant CMA equalizer. Experiments are performed for 50 and 100 Gb/s PolMUX-NRZ-QPSK signals.
With a continuously tunable free space optical delay interferometer and direct detection D(Q)PSK signals can be received at varying symbol rates or under optimized conditions. The interferometer's phase is stabilized and its polarization dependence mitigated.
A versatile optical vector signal analyzer is presented. The analyzer measures phase, intensity, eye diagrams and constellations without a local oscillator. Performance is demonstrated for 112 Gbit/s PolMUX DQPSK and other signal formats.
In this paper we discuss filtering schemes for performing wavelength conversion with QD-SOA. We identify that the selection of the optimum filter depends on the operating regimes of the nonlinear device. Experimental implementations of the proposed schemes demonstrate efficient wavelength conversion with high quality factors.
High-quality all-optical wavelength conversion is demonstrated with a single QD-SOA followed by a filter. The operation regimes of QD-SOA are identified. It is shown that different filter schemes are needed for the respective regimes.
This paper presents for the first time a full 32 nm CMOS technology for high data rate and low operating power applications using a conventional high-k with single metal gate stack. High speed digital transistors are demonstrated 22% delay reduction for ring oscillator (RO) at same power versus previous SiON technology. Significant matching factor (AVT) improvement (AVT~2.8 mV.um) and low 1/f noise...
In the recent years, as aging society becomes serious in Japan, people, especially those in the health industry, focus on the improvement of healthcare. Due to the unsuitable algorithm of out-patient appointment systems, patients always complain about long waiting-times. Because of this, it is necessary to re-build the algorithm of the out-patient appointment system to reduce waiting-times. In this...
We propose to suppress intra-channel four-wave-mixing (IFWM) in 40 Gbit/s optical transmission by applying a phase modulation at 10 GHz. Both numerical simulations and experiments show that the penalty induced by IFWM is significantly reduced
