In this paper, a modified magic-T using substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) and slotline is proposed and developed for RF/microwave applications on the basis of the substrate integrated circuits (SICs) concept. The modified planar magic-T consists of an 180° phase-reversal T-junction and an H-plane SIW T-junction. An optimized wideband magic-T structure is demonstrated and fabricated. Measurement...
Based on the substrate integrated waveguide technology, multiple antennas are developed at W-band for MIMO application. With the normal PCB process, such multiple antennas possess the advantages of compact structure, low cost, easy manufacture, and easy integration etc. High isolation feature is achieved. The simulated and measured results are in good agreement.
A SIW 2D multibeam antenna based on the multimode BFN scheme are modeled, designed and demonstrated on a low-cost two-layer substrate platform. SIW technology overcomes the drawbacks of the traditional planar BFNs in millimeter-wave frequency band, such as considerable loss and parasitic couplings etc. In addition, this multibeam antenna effectively avoids the use of connectors and cables within the...
A novel printed quasi-Yagi antenna fed by the HMSIW has been proposed in this paper. There is no tapered stripline between the HMSIW and broadside parallel stripline transition. The size of the antenna is effectively reduced. High gain, broadband, low insertion loss, simple design etc. characteristics are verified by simulated and measured results.
In this paper, the research advances in substrate integrated waveguide (SIW), half mode SIW (HMSIW) and folded HMSIW (FHMSIW) in the State Key Laboratory of Millimeter Waves (SKLMMW), Southeast University are reviewed, including the applications of SIW/HMSIW/FHMSIW in filters, diplexers, directional couplers, power dividers, antennas, frequency selective surfaces (FSSs), and RF subsystems etc.
