The regulation and transmission properties of linear time invariant continuous high gain feedback systems are considered. These properties are derived directly from the eigenstructure of the system closed loop dynamic matrix which depends, for high gain feedback, on the zero structure of the open loop system. Use is being made of the dependency to find explicit expressions for the dominant components...
Mode cancellation in multivariable stochastic systems may be caused by certain relationships between the input, the output and the internal structure of the system. Clearly, mode cancellation implies that the system's order cannot be identified from the output. Necessary and sufficient conditions for mode retention are derived and their implications on the order identification problem are considered.
