We propose an adaptive delay-difference compensation scheme for 40-Gb/s/ch optical virtual concatenation. Channel-to-channel delay-differences are detected based on peer comparison, and synchronously compensated using FIFO buffers. Rapid adaptive compensation with high accuracy is demonstrated.
We have investigated 10G/40G hybrid ULH transmission systems with OADMs for efficient use of wavelengths, and experimentally demonstrated 10times10 km transmission of 40 Gb/s channels integrated into a 5000 km 10 Gb/s/ch ULH system
The capability of 2.64 Tbit/s (132 ch./spl times/20 Gbit/s) WDM transmission over 120 km single mode fibre (SMF) is experimentally demonstrated. High density WDM signal with 0.6 bit/s/Hz spectrum efficiency is produced by optical duobinary coding.
