This paper considers, in a general algebraic framework, the design of a linear unity-feedback multivariable system with a stable plant. The method is based on a parametrization of the four closed-loop transfer functions and on a stability theorem. The main feature of the method is its flexibility in prescribing the closed-loop I/O map.
