Generally, 3D finite element method (FEM) is applied to consider overhang conditions of Linear Induction Motor (LIM). This paper suggests coupling algorism of 3D FEM and electro-magnetic field theory (EMFT) to overcome long analysis time of 3D FEM and to optimize its secondary structure.
