We experimentally investigate the wireless channel characteristics of 2×2 60-GHz MIMO OFDM RoF system with 3.5-m wireless distance. With lattice-reduction-aided detection, the achievable data rate can be improved from 0.58Gbps to 12.61Gbps for the worst case.
Multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) technique for wireless communications is extensively used these days, especially to increase the spectral efficiency of new wireless communication systems like LTE, WiMAX, etc. MIMO in combination with robust modulation techniques like orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) provides a good solution for high data rate wireless links. In this paper, the...
Several digital signal processing techniques and methods have been demonstrated to solve many technical challenges of 60-GHz fiber-wireless system. Using these solutions, we have experimentally demonstrated ultra-high capacity RoF systems operating at up to 50Gb/s.
We propose a simple 60GHz RoF system using a single-electrode MZM with transmission distance improvement from 3km to 10km. With beat noise mitigation algorithm, SNR can be improved by up to 5.5dB.
