Graphene oxide (G-O) flakes were used to seed the growth of single crystal graphene islands by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on Cu foil. Such islands have the G-O seed (which converts to a ‘reduced graphene oxide’ (rG-O) seed due to the CVD growth conditions used) roughly in the center of the islands. The lateral growth of such single crystal graphene islands was studied by carbon isotope labeling...
FePt nanoparticles (NPs)/reduced graphene oxide (rG-O) composites have been synthesized using a one-pot strategy without surfactants. Monodisperse FePt NPs were homogenously loaded onto rG-O sheets. By controlling the concentration of dispersed graphene oxide (GO), uniform FePt flower-like nanoclusters can be obtained. FePt/rG-O composites exhibited exceptionally high electrocatalytic performance...
We report a simple and effective route to convert graphene oxide sheets to good quality graphene sheets using hot pressing. The reduced graphene oxide sheets obtained from graphene oxide by low temperature thermal exfoliation are annealed at 1500°C and 40MPa uniaxial pressures for 5min in vacuum. No appreciable oxygen content was observed from X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and no D peak was detected...
