GF-1 is the first satellite of this Chinese civilian remote sensing satellites series. This paper presents some typical applications on marine environmental monitoring with high resolution and wide swath satellite data, especial on the marine disaster monitoring such as oil spill, sea ice, and red tide. With these data, we can get the detailed information about different disaster.
The absolute SSH (sea surface height) biases of three satellite altimeters Jason-2, Saral/AltiKa and HY-2 were determined using our GPS buoy at the Qian Li Yan Island of China, which are 9.3cm, 1.3cm and 66.8cm, respectively. In addition, the altimetry SWH (significant wave height) were assessed using GPS retrieved SWH, which shows good agreement between the GPS buoy and satellite altimeters. The...
In order to make improved use of the altimetry waveform data near the China coastal area, we present a new retracker (OceanCS) consists of waveform Classification and Sub-waveform extraction based on coastal altimetry waveform analysis and existing retracking algorithm comparison. The OceanCS retracker combines the advantages of Ocean retracker and OCOG retracker. The new retracker is further compared...
