We propose a channel-reuse, long-reach WDM-PON scheme and an optical beat noise-based automatic wavelength management method. A 40 km reach, channel-reuse, 40 Gb/s/λ downstream and 10 Gb/s/λ upstream signal transmission on a 100 GHz WDM grid is demonstrated.
We propose a remotely pumped EDFA and tunable transmitter-based 40-Gb/s/λ downstream and 10-Gb/s/λ upstream transmissions long-reach WDM-PON scheme and an optical beat noise-based novel automatic wavelength control method for tunable transmitter. Transmissions of 40-Gb/s DQPSK downstream using MZ Modulator and 10-Gb/s OOK upstream using optical beat noise-based self wavelength managed tunable transmitter...
Ytterbium (Yb) doped rare-earth garnet Y3Ga5O12 (YGG) single crystal was grown by the optical floating zone method for the first time, to our knowledge. Its structure and cell parameter were determined by X-ray powder diffraction. The thermal properties of Yb:YGG, including specific heat, thermal expansion coefficient, thermal diffusion coefficient, and thermal conductivity, were investigated. The...
Stable mode-locking laser pulse at 942 nm by diode-pumped Nd:GSAG laser has been demonstrated for the first time. We obtained 8.7 ps pulses at repetition rate of 95.6 MHz and average output power of 220 mW.
We realized an efficient diode-pumped Nd:GGG continuous-wave (CW) laser operating at 938 nm. The maximum output power of 3 W was obtained at the incident pump power of 14.5 W with a slope efficiency of 24%.
A diode-pumped Nd:LuVO4 continuous-wave laser operating at 916 nm was demonstrated for the first time. Output power of 11.4 mW was obtained with 11 W incident pump power, it corresponds to a slope efficiency of 0.22%.
