Optical power tolerance on micromirrors is a critical aspect of many high-power optical systems. Absorptive heating can negatively impact the performance of an optical system by altering the micromirror's curvature during operation. This can lead to shifts in the beam waist locations or imaging planes within a system. This paper describes a scheme to measure the impact of mirror heating by optical...
This paper presents a photon beam position monitor using beam profile and emittance measurement system for HLS (Hefei Light Source). Using this monitor, we calculated the horizontal and vertical center positions of the beam profile, and then we calibrated these positions with BPM system. When changed the RF frequency, the horizontal and vertical dispersions at the place of beam profile monitor could...
This paper presents a four quadrant photodetecor for photon beam position measurement. For photon beam with Gaussian distribution, difference over sum (Delta/Sigma) method and log-ratio method are introduced. Then the two methods of position signal processing are compared, we found that log-ratio method has a wider linearity range and higher sensitivity than Delta/Sigma method. On the basis of above,...
Fibre Bragg gratings (FBG), written in multimode 105??m core diameter silica fibre using ultrafast IR radiation, were probed using fibre collimators. Potential FBG usage as cavity reflectors in large mode area fibre lasers is discussed.
Fibre Bragg gratings were written in pure silica photonic crystal fibre tapers with 125 fs, 800 nm IR radiation. High reflectivity single and multimode responses were achieved with short exposure times.
