We propose an all-optical regeneration consisting of a phase quantizer based on delay and summation of higher harmonics and an optical amplitude squeezer. We experimentally demonstrate phase noise reduction of 40% and OSNR-gain of 3dB at BER 10−3 for 30-Gbaud QPSK signals.
We experimentally investigate a polarization-diversity phase-sensitive amplifier (PSA) for phase regeneration of 25-Gbaud DP-BPSK and DP-QPSK signals and show effective reduction on phase noise in both polarizations. BER measurements and reduced phase noise are achieved for both polarizations.
We experimentally demonstrate a technique to simultaneously monitor transmitter chirp and chromatic dispersion utilizing the first and second optical harmonics of a RZ-OOK data. Monitored results of modulator typical chirp and dispersion of 0∼400-ps/nm are obtained.
