A novel black crystalline composite was prepared using a fluoran dye and a bisphenol S derivative for high performance thermal paper. This composite can be potentially applied as a functional black ink without near-infrared absorption. In addition, the coloured structure of the fluoran dye with the developer was successfully analysed.
The crystal structure of a new bisphenol S derivative, 3,3′-diallyl-4,4′-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone was analyzed. This compound is used as colour developer in high-performance thermal paper, because of its high colour sensitivity and excellent image stability.
