In most of recent video coding standards based on block-based hybrid coding scheme, especially in the state-of-the-art H.264/AVC standard, motion vector information occupies a considerable portion of the whole compressed bitstream. Therefore, the efficient coding of motion vectors has become an essential objective to further reduce the bitrate. In this paper, we propose a novel motion vector coding...
In this paper, we will discuss universal decoding problem for Slepian-Wolf (SW) systems, as we know, for the first time. Based on former literature, we give a different interpretation for minimum entropy decoder and propose a relaxed linear programming decoding algorithm. With low computational complexity, the decoding algorithm can practically settle the universal decoding problems of SW systems.
Multiple nodes sensing the common target is the most popular application of the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Pure distributed compression of multiple correlated sources has been discussed much in the related literature, while taking the noisy communication channels into account is more suitable for the actual scenario. In this paper, a practical Distributed Joint Source-Channel Coding (DJSCC)...
It has been recently shown that, for non-orthogonal space-time block code (STBC), the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) maximum-likelihood (ML) metric can also be decoupled into single-input single-output (SISO) ML metrics for decoding simplification just as for orthogonal STBC. In this work, we utilized the decoupled metrics of a non-orthogonal STBC to derive the symbol error rate (SER) in correlative...
In this paper, the design and construction methods of the DISCUS (distributed source coding using syndromes) scheme in wireless sensor networks are analyzed. The encoder quantizes the continuous outputs of the source and calculates the syndromes of the source codewords. Only the syndromes are transmitted to the decoder. The decoder combines the received syndromes and the side information to reconstruct...
