Wireless networks simply consist of nodes radiating energy. Nodes can cooperate in complex manners to transport information. How then ought they to cooperate? Once this basic question is answered, one can determine what protocols are needed to execute the information transport strategy. Subsequently the task devolves to actually designing the particular protocols.
In this paper, we instantiate random oracle (RO) H in the Randomized Convergent Encryption proposed by Bellare et al. (Eurocrypt 2013) via a universal computation alextractor (UCE). We prove that if H is UCE secure for statistically unpredictable source, then there constructed RCE[H] is PRV$-CDA (Strong Privacy-Chosen Distribution Attacks) secure in the standard model.
Objetive: To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of acupoint acupuncture in treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) taking placebo acupuncture as control. Methods: The 72 cases CFS patients fulfilling the admission standard were divided randomly into an acupoint group (47 cases) and a placebo acupuncture group (25 cases), who were treated for 16 weeks and evaluated by Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS)...
By using the general solutions of one-dimensional quasicrystals with piezoelectric effect and introducing four potential functions, the plane problem of orthorhombic piezoelectric QCs subjected to the point forces and point charge is taken into account. The fundamental solutions in a closed form are obtained and the numerical results are given. The mechanical behaviors of 1D piezoelectric QC with...
Mobile systems such as smartphones and tablets are re-adopting swapping -- a mature but by rarely used OS feature -- to extend memory capacity without adding more DRAM, especially low-end devices. This resurgence of swapping in mobile systems has inspired both traditional "off-the-rack" schemes and new approaches based on compression and new hardware. Their vastly different designs, however,...
In heterogeneous relay networks, there are two types of user access connection: direct link and two-hop link. The former is used when a user accesses the Base Station (BS) directly, while the latter, composed of a backhaul link and an access link, is used when a user accesses the BS via a Relay Node (RN). For the RNs with in-band wireless backhaul, two-hop links operate in shared spectrum, and thus...
Mobile virtualization provides a secure and reliable mobile ecosystem in many aspects, such as personal privacy, corporate and public security. However, the limited memory resources of mobile systems and virtualization's memory demanding feature post challenges on main memory. Fortunately, non-volatile random access memory(NVRAM) provides opportunities to solve the problem with its attractive features,...
This paper presents the design of a reflectarray antenna from the point of view of an impedance surface instead of the traditional array-based methods. The proposed design methodology is based on the Bessel filter with its group delay bandwidth maximized. It will be shown that the reflectarrays can fully capitalize this bandwidth without using true-time-delay devices. A proof-of-concept 1-D reflectarray...
Wheat leaves under different dust stress intensity were diagnosed with hyperspctrectral technology. A four-level dust stress experiment was conducted using the wheat in growing season as the study object. The spectra of wheat leaves which suffered different stress intensity levels, including severe stress, moderate stress, mild stress and no stress, were collected by ASD FieldSpec®3 spectrometer, and...
Consider a symmetric primitive relay channel, where, the source X wants to send information to the destination Y with the help of a relay Z, the relay Z can communicate to the destination Y via an error-free digital link of rate R0, and Y, Z are conditionally independent and identically distributed given X. This paper presents two new upper bounds on the capacity of such relay channels, where the...
The explosive growth of smart mobile user equipments (UEs) boosts the emerging of numerous mobile applications. Most of these applications require an always-online connectivity, which incurs overly-frequent Radio Resource Control (RRC) state transitions, leading to signaling storm and user access failure. To address this issue, many researches focus on avoiding frequent transitions between RRC states...
As an efficient computational model in the computer field, context-aware technology has been concerned in the past 20 years, which has derived a lot of academic and industry achievements, and has been applied in WoT (Web of Things) and many other fields. This paper firstly presents the context-aware definition and the system frameworks, including context access, processing, translation, fusion, reasoning...
We propose an achievable decode-forward rate region for the two-way multi-relay network. The region is the outcome of a carefully mediated attempt, through a so-called “reverse-order” ranking policy, to privilege the disadvantaged nodes in the network over the advantaged. We use the word “advantage” in reference to the ability of a node to recover the decode-forward outer-bound by virtue of its position...
Social learning enables learners to interact with one another, which is a critical way to foster creativity. Although online social networking technologies have been widely adopted, few empirical studies have been conducted to illustrate the effect of online social interactions on creativity in the context of learning. In this research-in-progress, we attempt to fill this gap by investigating how...
This paper studies the cooperative transmission scheme and the achievable rate for uplink communications in an LTE-Advanced cellular network with Type II in-band decode-and-forward relay stations. The physical layer uplink transmission is based on single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) with frequency-domain equalization (FDE). Unlike orthogonal frequency division multiple access...
In this paper, a new MAC protocol for LTE over unlicensed spectrum (LTE-U) is presented that allows friendly co-existence of LTE-U with other unlicensed wireless networks, including Wi-Fi. Specifically, in a time-slotted LTE-U system, LTE- U users can transmit continuously for a period after a successful channel reservation during the spectrum sensing period. Following each LTE transmission period,...
This paper proposes a coordination control strategy of voltage source converter based multi-terminal DC (VSC-MTDC) transmission system for integrating large-scale offshore wind power. Using a typical five-terminal DC transmission system as an example, coordination control strategy based on local controller among converter stations is proposed. Based on the DC voltage-active power characteristic, improved...
To analyze the multi-failure under incomplete information condition, the model based on concept lattice is constructed according to the binary relation between failure modes and basic function elements. Aiming at solving the problem caused by the incomplete information, the algorithm based on maximal confidence, function elements value expectation is designed, develop the extended discernibility matrix...
Leaf chlorophyll content (LCC) is an important indicator for wheat growth monitor. In this paper, the integrated inversion approach was developed to estimate the wheat LCC. Based on the PROSAIL simulation data set, three hyperspectral vegetation indices (VIs), PRI, TCARI and TCARI/OSVAI, were comparative analyzed to screen out optimal VI for wheat LCC estimation. The integrated inversion models to...
In order to provide scientific support for the management of the urban green vegetation, taking Xuzhou city as an example, this paper proposed a method to diagnose stress conditions of vegetation rapidly by using a green vegetation spectral database. Under laboratory conditions, 303 samples of leaf reflectivity spectra taken from 25 kinds of green vegetation in urban areas were acquired by the means...
