In this paper, we present a flexible hybrid energy harvester for single- or multi-source energy collection. To increase harvesting power, piezoelectric and thermoelectric conversions are used simultaneously. The piezoelectric portion of the harvester collects energy from low-frequency kinetic motion using frequency up-conversion. The thermoelectric part is suitable for harvesting energy from a curved...
We developed frequency up-conversion hybrid energy harvester using two (internal and external) cantilevers. In order to increase harvesting power, the harvester utilizes piezoelectric and electromagnetic conversions simultaneously. By adopting frequency up-conversion method which is enabled by the bending of layered structures (substrate and two cantilevers) and separation between them, it can harvest...
We developed a flexible triboelectric energy harvester that can generate from extremely low frequency strain inputs. The harvester consists of flexible substrate, cantilever, sagged film which is partially bonded beneath the cantilever and permanent magnets. When the cantilever is deformed, contact and separation motion between the cantilever and sagged film occurs and it makes electricity by triboelectric...
We have developed a highly sensitive, transparent and flexible toluene sensor using cobalt-metalloporphyrin (Co-MPP)-functionalized graphene as sensing material. The functionalization of MPP enhanced responsiveness (ΔR/Ri) over 200% compared to pristine graphene toward 10 ppm of toluene molecules at room temperature, while it still revealed optical transmittance and mechanical flexibility.
