In this paper, a full-bridge full-wave high frequency link inverter with active clamper is proposed. Analysis and modeling of such an inverter are provided. A PR controller is developed and implemented for the inverter. The effectiveness of the proposed inverter and its control strategy are verified by using experiments.
The use of a bi-directional buck-boost cascade converter in electric vehicles allows the suitable control of both motoring and regenerative braking operations. Based on the bidirectional buck-boost cascade converter, the random pulse width modulation (RPWM) scheme is implemented to reduce the conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI). Compared with the fixed frequency PWM (FPWM), the proposed RPWM...
This paper proposes a hybrid energy source (HES) based double-stator permanent magnet brushless motor drive (DS-PMBL) for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). The key is to design and apply a battery-ultracapacitor HES to the DS-PMBL HEV drive properly, incorporating the merits of both battery and ultracapacitor. The peaky charging and discharging currents are supplied or absorbed by the ultracapacitors...
This paper proposes a new hybrid-source switched-capacitor multilevel converter for electric vehicles. The key is to integrate the battery-ultracapacitor hybrid power source into the switched-capacitor multilevel converter. Hence, the problem of high capacitive charging current of the switched-capacitor multilevel converter can be solved, and the dynamic voltage equalization of battery packs can be...
In this paper, a review focused on the control theory of induction machines (IM) is presented. Then, the influences of dead time and voltage drop of switching devices are discussed. Consequently, considering both effects of dead time and voltage drop, an improved stator flux observation strategy for the direct torque controlled (DTC) EVI drive system is proposed. A simulation model is developed and...
On-line task scheduling is a very challenging issue for dual-core real-time embedded systems, because to control priority inversion and to manage system utilization are fundamentally at odds with each other. We propose an on-line dual-core scheduling framework for dynamic workloads with real-time constraints. The processor and the co-processor are dedicated to separate schedulers with different scheduling...
In this paper, an efficient threshold-based filtering (TF) buffer management scheme is proposed. The TF is capable of minimizing the overall loss performance and improving the fairness of buffer usage in a shared buffer packet switch. The TF consists of two mechanisms. One mechanism is to classify the output ports as active or inactive by comparing their queue lengths with a dedicated buffer allocation...
