UDTCDA (universal dynamic threshold cloud detection algorithm) is a new cloud detection method which was proposed recently. This cloud detection method is supported by priori surface reflectance obtained from MODIS surface reflectance product (MOD09). Reflectance of four bands in the wavelength of visible to near infrared are used to detect the cloudy pixels. Because there is a priori reference data...
To realize highly precise and automatic cloud detection from multi-sensors, this paper proposes a cloud detection algorithm-generating (CDAG) method for remote sensing data from visible to short-wave infrared (SWIR) bands. Hyperspectral remote sensing data with high spatial resolution were collected and used as a pixel dataset of cloudy and clear skies. In this paper, multi-temporal AVIRIS (Airborne...
Cloud detection is a key processing step before extracting information of earth surface from the earth observation data. Lots of schemes have been developed for cloud detection, static threshold method is the main method that is widely used in cloud detection. However, for the huge difference between different land objects, it is much difficult to find a proper threshold to detect the cloudy pixel...
Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) has been widely used in evaluating the status and changes of ecological environment. This paper aims to introduce a method of extracting NDVI from image gained by HJ-1A/B CCD boarding on HJ-1A/B satellite. Cloud detection and atmospheric correction are carried out before the NDVI calculated. Results show that the NDVI can well describe the vegetation distribution.
