Future 5G network provides network slices for applications of different areas on the same physical network. Low-latency is the most key indicators of demand for the slices. How to establish the low-latency network slices is an essential question. This article proposes a mapping algorithm for low-latency network slices based on linear programming. Firstly, this problem can be defined as a linear programming...
A broadband circularly polarized patch antenna is proposed for WLAN system application. Seven identical curved branches extended from the circular patch are designed to generate circular polarization. Simultaneously, seven identical slots are symmetrically etched on the junction of each curved branch and the circular patch. The dimension of the antenna is reduced by 17.8% compared with no slots. The...
As the rapid growth of computing demand in cloud computing, the virtualization of data center network is more and more deployed. The data center is reconstructed to Software Defined Data Center with the technical of Software defined network. The services of data center are formed into Virtual Data Center, which is based on the virtual resource collection of the physical network section. So the VDC...
Virtual machine placement (VMP) is the assignment of virtual machines (VMs) to physical hosts (PHs). In this paper, we apply a glowworm swarm optimisation (GSO) algorithm to solve the VMP problem so that the energy consumption, the service level agreement (SLA) violation are minimised. Simulation results show that GSO based VMP algorithm outperforms many of the common VMP algorithms.
A kind of V-shape-meander-line reconfigurable electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) structure is designed in this paper. The proposed EBG structure is fabricated and measured. It is found that miniaturization and frequency reconfigurability of EBG structure can be realized.
Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) have been attracting interest for their potential roles in intelligent transport systems (ITS). In order to enable distributed ITS, there is a need to maintain some information in the vehicular networks without the support of any infrastructure such as road side units. In this paper, we propose a protocol which can store the data in VANETs by transferring data to...
In this paper, a wideband substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity backed patch antenna element is proposed for high-gain arrays at millimeter-wave bands. By compensating the inductance of the feeding metallic via with a capacitive ring slot on the ground plate, an additional resonance is introduced to the patch mode to expand the bandwidth. To suppress the backward radiation from the slot and...
Due to the special topologies and communication pattern, in today's data center networks it is common that a large set of TCP flows and a small set of TCP flows get into different ingress ports of a switch and compete for a same egress port. However, in this case the throughput share of flows in the two sets will not be fair even though all flows have the same RTT. In this paper, we study this problem...
With the rapid growth of data and the growing demand from users on the system performance, data availability has become the most important issue in large-scale storage systems. Due to the ability to provide space-optimal data redundancy to protect against node failures, erasure codes have seen widely deployment. To ensure data availability, it is crucial to recover node failures quickly. In this paper,...
The off-chip memory bandwidth is often a critical part of a video processing system. Traditional cache usually behaves poor since some video algorithms, such as motion compensation, tend to access memory in an inefficient way. An efficient memory bandwidth architecture for video decoder is proposed in this paper. Two bandwidth optimization strategies are proposed through pixels reconstructed and data...
Optical networks have been considered for on-chip communications due to its advantages on bandwidth density, power efficiency and propagation speed over the electrical counterpart. However, the major optical device-micro ring resonator is very sensitive to manufacturing errors and temperature fluctuations, which results in the bandwidth loss or even the failure of optical link. Thus, this paper proposes...
We address the problem of MAC-layer misbehavior in distributed multi-channel MAC protocols. We show that selfish users can manipulate the protocol parameters to gain an unfair share of the available bandwidth, while remaining undetected. We identify optimal misbehavior strategies that can lead to the isolation of a subset of frequency bands for exclusive use by the misbehaving nodes and evaluate their...
In this paper, a dual-mode cavity-backed patch antenna and a 2×2 array is proposed for Q-band wireless applications. In addition to the original TM01 mode of patch antenna, an independently controllable resonance is introduced by loading the antenna with an inductive via and an annular slot. The bandwidth (return loss<−10 dB) of the antenna element is thus expanded to 12.4% while the bandwidth...
Due to the characteristics of the DCF model in 802.11 and P2P users' requirements of both downloading and uploading, P2P traffic frequently causes congestion in WLAN. However, traditional P2P cache cannot alleviates the congestion caused by P2P traffic in WLAN effectively. In this paper, we propose a novel solution called bidirectional cache for this problem. A bidirectional cache which contains a...
In this paper, a wideband conformal invert-F antenna structure is presented. Firstly, the effect of several parameters of the proposed planar inverted-F antenna on the input performance is discussed. Secondly, a conformal inverted-F antenna is simulated. Finally, the simulated results are compared with the measured data.
In this paper, we present a UHF-band compact conformal dipole antenna. Firstly, a planar dipole antenna is designed. And several parameters of the planar dipole antenna structure are discussed in detail. Secondly, the conformal dipole antenna mounted on the cylindrical body is simulated. Finally, the small conformal dipole antenna is fabricated and measured.
Near-duplicate document detection has received much attention from both industrial and research areas during the recent years. Various methods have been proposed to identify near-duplicate documents that share same content with exception of a small fraction difference. Most of research work are discussed on a centralized system, and focus on the accuracy and efficiency of detection method. However,...
TCP Incast, also known as TCP throughput collapse, is a term used to describe a link capacity under-utilization phenomenon in certain many-to-one communication patterns, typically in many datacenter applications. The main root cause of TCP Incast analyzed by prior works is attributed to packet drops at the congestion switch that result in TCP timeout. Congestion control algorithms have been developed...
In mobile P2P systems over 3G cellular networks, traditional peer selection algorithms with the idea of traffic localization are not suitable due to the architecture and characteristics of 3G cellular networks. In this paper we propose a novel peer selection algorithm named CFPL for mobile P2P systems over 3G cellular networks. By taking not only the available uplink bandwidth of peers but also the...
In this paper, we investigate effects of several design parameters, including turn number and unit cell size, on the stopband performance of rectangular spiral EBG structure by HFSS. The results of conventional EBG structure and rectangular spiral EBG structure are compared. In addition, the spiral EBG structure is applied into microstrip antenna. It is demonstrated that gain and FBR are improved.
