A 1×9 multiport spectrum cutter based on liquid crystal on silicon (LCoS) is proposed, fabricated, and demonstrated. As an LCoS-based optical processor, the spectrum cutter can realize fine control of filter attenuation (0∼30dB range) and phase (0∼2π) characteristics with minimum bandwidth of 15 GHz and maximum bandwidth of 5 THz across the C-band. The optical transfer function can be software-specified...
A finer-grid wavelength-selective switch (WSS) based on liquid crystal on silicon is proposed, fabricated, and demonstrated. Based on the cost-effective method, namely combined lenses technique, the focal length is increased so that both the bandwidth setting resolution and grid granularity is improved from 12.5 to 6.25 GHz compared with the conventional WSS. To demonstrate its utility, we apply this...
We propose a dual-function scheme which supports both failure protection of the fiber links and P2P communication between RSOA-based colorless ONUs. Equivalent experiments are performed to evaluate the feasibility of the proposed scheme.
Due to the fact that network connectivity has a fixed value for a given network, only using network connectivity to improve the survivability of data center networks will reach bottleneck. The content connectivity, which is defined as the reachability of content from any point of a network becomes research focus. In this letter, the definition of $k$-node (edge) content connectivity is given. Theoretical...
For large scale multi-domain elastic optical networks, we propose a combination of distributed and centralized control architecture (DC-CA) based on stateful hierarchical PCE. Experiment results are presented from DC-CA testbed and automated provisioning and recovery time of multi-fault are reported.
Different routing schemes for multi-layer and multidomain optical networks are analyzed, and a novel routing architecture is described in the paper. Cooperation models between dual routing engine in large-scale multi-layer and multidomain optical networks are researched, and an optimal model is proposed and simulated. Then the scalability of dual routing engine architecture is validated on DRE testbed.
