A novel 60-GHz photonic millimeter-wave signal generation using a frequency quadrupling technique is proposed for the first time. A 312.5-MSym/s 8-QAM millimeter-wave signal at 60 GHz is demonstrated with negligible penalty following 25-km SMF transmission.
We experimentally demonstrate 10-Gb/s OFDM-QPSK signal with negligible penalty following 100-km SSMF transmission within 7-GHz unlicensed band at 60-GHz for the first time. The proposed scheme proves to be a viable solution for long-reach 60-GHz RoF system.
Improvement in performance of fibre wireless systems using a semiconductor laser amplifier is experimentally demonstrated. The presented approach improves receiver sensitivity by over 4.5 dB by increasing the depth of optical modulation. The approach can support long-distance fibre-wireless systems.
