We demonstrate a coherent OFDM-PON based on a simplified coherent receiver, which exploits a DFB local oscillator without phase/frequency locking. We achieve ultra-narrow channel spacing (Δν = 1.6 GHz) and high-power budget (43 dB/35 dB) for 1.25/10 Gb/s.
We report the first experimental demonstration of 25Gb/s operation of 1GHz bandwidth-limited Reflective Semiconductor Optical Amplifier based on DMT modulation and optical equalization. This combination is highly resilient to chromatic dispersion.
We demonstrate the first gigabit-class connectivity by using a DMT modulation of a commercial white phosphor-based LED for broadband indoor wireless access. We obtained 1 Gbit/s visible light communication link at typical office illuminance level.
Light-emitting diodes (LEDs), which will be increasingly used in lighting technology, will also allow for distribution of broadband optical wireless signals. Visible-light communication (VLC) using white LEDs offers several advantages over the RF-based wireless systems, i.e., license-free spectrum, low power consumption, and higher privacy. Mostly, optical wireless can provide much higher data rates...
We experimentally demonstrate the integration of Radio-over-Fiber and Visible Light Communication technologies, into a hybrid system for indoor communication. The system, realized according to IEEE 802.11g standard, works effectively at typical office luminance level.
